Evan Bayh Was Never a Democrat

BY itself, a decision by a senator from a faraway state not to seek re-election does not say much. But the profound frustration about partisan gridlock, expressed by Indiana Sen. Evan Bayh as he joins several other members of Congress retiring this year, sounds alarm bells.

Even as Governor, his best friends in Indiana were Steve Goldsmith, the Republican Mayor of Indianapolis and Dan Quayle, VP to Daddy Bush.

Dan Coats has been a coprate lobbyist for years and would be the wrose person as a republicna on the ballot to win the election. Still, there are no strong democrats to replace Byah, because in Idnaina, they are all blud dog democrats

It's truly like living in the deep radical right wing nut south....bible belt and all.

I have practiced buddhism since 1995. When I tell people at work that when they ask which "church" I go to, they avoid me like the plague. No problem. I was getting pretty tired of their "God wants me to." theories.

Don't get me wrong, I know plenty of good Christians and I respect any belief that produces a lot of love and compassion. But these Church of Goders/Pentecostals don't have any of that.

I'm all for people believing whatever they need to to get by. But why do they feel the need to force it on other people? Christian religions usually preach that they're supposed to convert other people, but even Jesus knew when to back off. And He never tried to establish religion in government.

I feel for you that your coworkers felt the need to even ask you what church you go to. What business is it of theirs? And then to avoid you after you answer that you belong to a non-Christian church is just rude and close-minded. What is this fear of people who are different? It's all about fear, I guess.

Well, it's easier to keep the flock together and not scattered if you are fearful of others. That way, no one finds something better than the cult can give them.

It's really no skin off my nose. I converted from a Lutheran when my synod went Evangelical. They can have their born again....I think they suffer enough.
